Convention Center Information
All big cities across the world have convention centers for holding cultural events and music gigs etc. The city of Tuscon is one such big city and is home to the Tuscon Convention Center (TCC). The Tuscon Convention Center was also known as the Tuscon community center. The Tuscon Convention Center is not just large but it is multi-purpose in nature and has been the center of many prestigious events such as the annual Tuscon Gem & Mineral Show, WWE Wrestling matches, plenty of big band music concerts and truck and car shows etc.
Tuscon Convention Center was built in 1971 and is located in downtown Tuscon, Arizona. The campus of the Tuscon Convention Center includes a 9,275 seater indoor arena, a big 205, 000 square feet meeting hall and 2 performing arts venues. Plenty of sporting events and tournaments are regularly organized in the Tuscon convention center.
The Tuscon city council is planning to expand the Tuscon Convention Center and a new tortoise-shell shaped arena will be constructed at the cost of $130 million. Work for this new arena begins in August 2008. Furthermore, the Tuscon Convention Center Exhibit Hall will also be renovated.
Another great attraction that should be considered when visiting Tuscon is the Old Tuscon Studios.
